Camps begin from Year 5 and are designed to allow the students to undertake challenging experiences. They also focus on the ability of the students to function as members of a group. Camps involve almost every curriculum area and provide the opportunity for students and teachers to work co-operatively outside the boundaries of the classroom.
Each year, the Year 6 students travel to Canberra for 4 days and three nights.
The aim of the trip is to:
provide children with new educational experiences
enhance the children’s education of Australian History (especially the ANZAC story), Democracy, Leadership and Government
encourage increased responsibility and independence
be an opportunity for all Australians to visit the Nation’s Capital
